OPITEC PlusLine Catapult

Description

  The catapult is modelled on medieval throwing catapults. The construction does not require special technical skills. Students build a working catapult and develop solutions and strategies to increase the throw. The solutions and goals are documented independently by students. This encourages creativity and expands craft skills. Students learn through trial and error.
Skills required: marking, sawing, grinding/filing, drilling, screwing and glueing. Curriculum requirements: to increase awareness of a complete action plan, and for pupils to produce their workpieces according to their personal design. The manufacturing process leads to acquired knowledge in the areas of materials and processing.
